The school day begins at 9:20am. Drop-And-Go time is from 9.10am - 9.20am. The school day finishes at 2pm for Junior and Senior Infants and 3pm for First to Sixth Class Students. For the first two weeks of the school year, the Junior Infants attend until 12:30pm as this assists with their smooth transition into the school.
We ask that all parents would download the Aladdin Connect app from the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (Apple). The app is free to use. Aladdin Connect is our primary method of communicating with parents. We use it to inform parents of all the essential and important messages about their children and the school. These messages can be emails, text messages or app alerts. Parents can also use the app to inform the school of absences. Aladdin Connect can also be used for cashless payments from you to the school. When you log in as a parent, you will see all the relevant information regarding your child.
The school uniform consists of a grey skirt or pinafore, grey trousers (standard grey uniform pants), grey shirt, blue tie, and a blue jumper or cardigan and a T-shirt with school crest.
Items can be sourced from Hydes, Main Street, Midleton.
Items with the school crest are only available from Hydes, other items can be purchased in other shops if you wish and are also available in Hydes. (www.hydesfashion.ie)

The school operates a Book Loan Scheme to minimise the cost of books for parents. Information on this will be sent to you.
Bus Eireann operates a school bus which drops pupils to and from our school. Parents arrange this service through Bus Eireann and it is independent from the school. The registration portal to apply for a place for your child on the school bus for the next school year can be found at:
https://www.buseireann.ie/inner.php?id=257
The school operates a Healthy Lunch policy. Children are asked to bring a healthy lunch to school. This might consist of water, milk, fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, yoghurts, etc. Sweets, biscuits and cakes are strongly discouraged. Fizzy drinks, chewing gum and crisps are banned.
We are a nut-free school as we have pupils with nut allergies. We would request for pupil safety that nut products are not included in school lunches.
If your child is absent from school, you must inform the school of the reason. The easiest way to do this is through the Aladdin Connect App, which we recommend that you download from the App Store/Play Store. Under the Education (Welfare) Act 2000, all schools are obliged to submit attendance reports to Tusla.
Schools submit a Student Absence Report twice yearly to Tusla, notifying them of all pupils that have been absent for a total of 20 days or more, regardless of the reasons for absence. It is important that you submit "Reasons for Absence" for your child through the Aladdin app. The number of days that your child has been absent are available to you through the Aladdin app.
